Funny story ...
Did you know that I can write, too? No? Yeah, me either, but apparently not only can I write, I can compose a 2,000 word short story at the 11th hour after sitting through a Zoom meeting and becoming aquainted with some of the most courageous women I have ever met!
When I started working with Gloria Coppola, founder of Powerful Potential and Purpose Publishing as her Virtual Assistant and graphics girl, I really didn't think I would be here writing a newsletter about how soon, my story would be published right alongside her and those 13 other brave souls. But alas, here I am and here you are reading about it - come along with me on this fantastic voyage to find out how it all transpired.

I was asked to create this graphic for Gloria's group on Facebook. Just a friendly reminder about a Zoom meetup between authors participating in an upcoming collaborative release. No big deal, I do this all the time, right?!
Right. I have done this very same thing at least three other times for previous collaboratives lead by Gloria, my boss. However, this time was going to be different.
How you say?
Well, I didn't know it at the time, but this graphic would lead me into a Zoom meeting that impacted me in such a way that, when it was over, I announced in the chat that I was typing notes in for the other authors, "I wish I had joined in on this one." In a moment's notice, my heart spoke to my brain and my brain lifted my fingers over the keys on my keyboard and there it was in plain sight for everyone attending to see. Part of me thought it was too late to jump in and that I was going to be safe from being held accountable to my proclamation. It didn't work out that way, though.

The next thing I hear is the ding of my Facebook messenger, which is where Gloria and I speak during Zoom calls if something needs said or done while she is live. This is what I saw:
"If you're serious, send me your first draft by end of business today."
Excuse me, what?! Was she serious? Not another word was said about it, and I sat in a state of shock for a good 15-minutes before I decided "To hell with it, serious or not, I'm going to do this. When I email it, all she can say is that she was kidding or that she didn't really believe I was serious."
In her defense, there had been a few occasions where I'd shown interest in participating in one of her collaborative books. I'd proclaim it, then go silent and nothing else would be said. Do you see how she flipped the script on me there?
Y'all, the manuscript was complete and about to be sent off to the formatter. It was literally on its way to publishing phase when this happened.
Three hours.

The time it took from Zoom call to first draft signed, sealed and delivered to Gloria's email. 2,000 words spilled out of my soul onto a Word doc like it was something I'd been reciting my whole life.
Now I wait. I wait to see if she was actually serious about giving me my chance to bring a dream to life, or wait to see if she'd laugh and ask me if I was crazy thinking that this could seriously be pulled off. I would not breathe right again until I got her response.
"Oh my goodness, girl! You really can write. This is beautiful! Let me run it through a few things and you will hear back from me on your next steps."
By 10PM that night after a few edits, my story was in the manuscript and sent to the formatter. I kid you not.
It was real. IT WAS REAL Y'ALL!

With that, my name was added to the back cover (see above, 4th paragraph down), and I will soon be a published author, sharing an inspirational story about how I'm turning "Cant
s" into "Can's" through mindset, manifstation, and healthy medicine.
Whenever you feel like you can't, I promise you that you can. Be sure to
subscribe to my email list to be the first to know about release day, so you can snag your copy! I can't wait to get your feedback.
Love, Teaka
